About us
Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo is a not-for-profit organization that operates to promote social and economic development in the provinces of Padua and Rovigo.
It was originally established as a banking foundation in December 1991 following the reform of the Italian banking system introduced by Law no. 218 of 30 July 1990 (known as the Amato Law, after the then Italian Treasury Minister, Giuliano Amato).
Inspired by a vision of a supportive community that promotes innovation, Fondazione supports activities and initiatives carried out by public institutions and not-for-profit organizations, and in turn executes projects that aim to achieve a perceivable change, by interpreting the needs of the territories in which it acts.

Fondazione's operating activities
Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to
promote the quality of life
foster the sustainable development of the area
Fondazione's roles
To fulfill our philanthropic mission, we operate in the pursuit of two roles
Supporting roles
Supporting the creation of projects that can make a positive impact on the community.
Social innovator role
Fondazione tries out and assesses the effects of new approaches to unresolved needs to then roll them out (if effective) on a larger scale.
Philantropic activities
Is it enough to give a man a fish when he’s hungry or is it better to teach a man how to fish?
Thanks to our philanthropic commitment, we want to enable as many people as we can to cast their own net into the sea. We know that this is a complex and long-range process. But we also know how to deal with it: by supporting projects that can have a positive impact on the community, while trying out new approaches to social problems and develop knowledge on how to tackle them effectively.
This is what being a philanthropist is all about.
Fondazione Cariparo promotes the quality of life and sustainable development in the Padua and Rovigo area thanks to its community-wide vision that embraces both innovation and solidarity.
Acting on the causes that bring about the needs to prevent them and increasingly reduce them. This way anyone is given not only the opportunity to have a fish, but also to be able to freely choose which fish to catch every day, by casting their net in a river, in a lake or into the sea.
